PORTUGAL – SERTA – N2 – km 345

The EN2, or Estrada Nacional 2, also known as “Portugal’s Route 66”, is a national road that runs from the north to the south of Portugal, and crosses the country in its middle. It is not a highway or a road to be driven in a hurry. It’s 739 km of Portuguese goodness: mountains, rivers, history, culture, villages and gastronomy. It is not a coastal road, but an opportunity to see the country from an angle that many do not know
On your way to the central region of Portugal, be sure to stop at Sertã. This picturesque river village has beautiful beaches where you can picnic, cool off with a swim, or just dip your feet in the water listening to the trickle down.
Sertã, for such a small village, also has some very beautiful bridges. The wooden pedestrian bridge, for example, where you locals like to walk their dogs and enjoy the surrounding park.
You can also visit Sertã Castle and the incredible Cabril Dam.
