Plaza de Toros, set high in the Serranía de Ronda, this perfectly round bullring of pale stone was completed under the patronage of the Maestranza de Caballería in1785. Its double arcaded galleries and sand-colored arena became the cradle of modern Spanish bullfighting and a symbol of Andalusian pride.
