Anne Frank (1929–1945) was a Jewish girl who went into hiding with her family during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. While in hiding, she wrote a diary that vividly describes her experiences, thoughts, and hopes. After the family was discovered and deported, Anne died in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. Her diary, published after the war, became one of the world’s most widely read accounts of the Holocaust.
