Arlon is a city in the province of Luxembourg in southeastern Belgium and is one of the oldest towns in the country, with origins in the Roman settlement Orolaunum. Many archaeological finds, including mosaics and inscriptions, are preserved in the Archaeological Museum, one of Belgium’s most important Roman collections.
As the administrative capital of the province, Arlon sits near the borders with Luxembourg and France, making it a key regional crossroads. Among its landmarks are the Saint Donatus hill, offering panoramic views, and the Saint Martin’s Church, known for its impressive Gothic Revival design.
Arlon is also home to the old Palace of Justice, a 19th-century neoclassical building that long served as the city’s courthouse. Though no longer used for judicial functions, the structure remains a notable part of Arlon’s architectural heritage.
