STAVANGER – Arkeologisk Museum

The Museum of Archaeology in Stavanger is one of five archaeological museums in Norway. The permanent exhibition is mainly made up of objects from the more than 11,000 years of habitation in Rogaland, from the pioneer time of the most ancient Stone Age, through the Bronze Age, the Iron Age – including the Viking Age – to the Middle Ages. People lived on this land during all these long periods, hence Rogaland is one of Norway’s richest archaeological fields for ancient civilisations.
