From October 2016 till April 2017, the Historical Museum of the Palatinate ( Historisches Museum der Pfalz) showed the great exhibition “The Maya – Rulers of the Rainforest”. This major international archaeological exhibition is an exploration of the fascinating Mayan culture and a treasure trove of magnificent Mayan objects. The exhibited treasures, mostly from the period from AD 200 until 900, provide an impression of this intriguing high civilisation. Many of the objects have never been on show in Europe before.
