The Arctic Circle Center is located at 66′ 33′ north latitude, 650 m above sea level, on the boundary of the Saltfjellet-Svartisen national park. In the Saltfjellet mountains there is an abundant flora and fauna, and a large number of fishing lakes.The building’s striking architecture is adapted to its natural surroundings, and the Arctic Circle itself runs right through the building. The Center is open during the season from May 1 to September 15. Exhibitions covering art, trade and industry, tourism and a separate exhibition of stuffed arctic animals including Europe’s largest stuffed polar bear. An excellent movie theater features a multi-vision programme with gorgeous pictures and music from North Norway. All of this is spread across a surface area of approximatley 1300m².
