RODEMACK – Porte de Sierck

Located at the heart of the ‘Country of the Three Borders’, close to Luxembourg (6 km) and Germany (20 km), Rodemack is a charming medieval village, nicknamed ‘Carcassonne of Lorraine’. The village is surrounded by a defense wall, and was able to preserve a perfume of the past with its typical lanes, its architectural heritage and its ‘Art of living’. All these assets enabled it to be classified among ‘the Most beautiful Villages of France’. The ‘Porte de Sierck’, as well as the 700 meters of still existing ramparts, were built during the 13th and 14th century by the inhabitants of the borough, after the signature of the charter freeing them. The enclosure was intended to protect the inhabitants and their goods.
