Park animalier des Pyrenees is located in the country of the bears; in the heart of the Pyrenean mountain chain, just 10 minutes drive from Lourdes. It presents the animals of this area in vast spaces where, bears, wolves, chamois, marmots, lynx, roe-deer, otters, foxes, squirrels live in semi-freedom. Since 1999, date of its creation, the ‘Parc Animalier des Pyrénées’ did not seek the establishment of the richest possible animal assortment. Its choice was made on a new principle which makes it possible to the visitor to share the intimacy of the animals while preserving their natural behaviors. Along the years the park didn’t stop growing preserving those principles. Today more than a hundred species live in about 10 Ha of park situated on a hill giving a magnificent view on the mountain chain.
