At the start of 2022, the Parc Animalier des Pyrénées team was very happy to announce the birth of a baby Ocelot. A birth as rare as it is exceptional.
This one is doing wonderfully, and is already exploring every corner of its enclosure.
After several days of reflection, the teams finally made their choice, which fell on Wakan, which can be translated as “sacred”.
The Ocelot is a wild cat, which has the most beautiful fur in the feline world. It is also a good climber, with a keen sense of smell. The Ocelot has the particularity of sleeping with its head on its extended forelegs, like dogs.
