LUXEMBOURG – Musée National d’Histoire et d’Art – Sanglier

The Musée National d’Histoire et d’Art (National Museum of History and Art) is situated at the Fish Market in the oldest part of the city of Luxembourg. The items in the collection span thousands of years, from an extensive gathering of Gallo-Roman antiquities, through masterpieces of 20th century expressionism. One of the most popular exhibits is the Luxembourg Life installation, featuring artifacts from 17th-19th century bourgeois Luxembourgians, assembled in 4 former private residences. This wild boar is a bronze sculpture (1c BC) found at the Titelberg, the site of a Celtic settlement. The Titelberg is in SW Luxembourg, near the LU/BE/FR triangle.
