The Cirque de Gavarnie is a majestic glacial amphitheater rising to over 3.000 meters at the back of which falls the 400 meter Grande Cascade waterfall. It is only accessible on foot from the village of Gavarnie.The Cirque of Gavarnie is a UNESCO World Heritage Site – protected from any development and most famous of all for it’s stunning water falls (in summer) and its ice climbing in winter.
