LEEK – National Rijtuigmuseum

National Rijtuigmuseum has a unique collection of carriages of national value. The museum is set in a monumental manor house with outbuildings and gardens. The complex was originally built in 1524.The National Carriage Museum presents an overal view of the various types of carriages and sleighs from the 18th to the 20th century. The 250 coaches in the museum’s collection were used by farmers, the common man, the nobleman and royalty. Every year the museum houses an exhibition with a special theme. There are also shows and various events. Carriages and sleighs are, on occasion, given on loan to other museums for their exhibitions. The museum plays an active role in education and presentations.
