Origin of Daugavpils University dates back to 4th November 1921. Historically, it has developed as the largest and most significant higher school in the region of Latgale, Daugavpils district. In more than 90 years of its existence and continuous years of development stable traditions and lasting values have been maintained and created at Daugavpils University. Specialists of different spheres that are important for our town, region and country have acquired their education at the University.
