MARTIGNY – Barryland

Barryland is a museum and visitor center in Martigny, Switzerland, dedicated to the history, culture, and legacy of the Saint Bernard dog. Located near the historic Hospice du Grand-Saint-Bernard, Barryland connects visitors with the centuries-old tradition of the hospice dogs that once rescued travelers in the Alpine passes.
The site combines a museum, an educational space, and a living habitat where visitors can meet the Saint Bernards cared for by the Fondation Barry. Exhibitions explore the origins of the breed, their role in mountain rescue, and their symbolic place in Swiss heritage.
Barryland also hosts temporary exhibitions, family activities, and interactive displays that highlight the bond between humans and these iconic dogs. It serves as both a cultural institution and a center for the preservation and promotion of the Saint Bernard’s legacy.
