Located in the village of Luzenac, Talcaneô is an interactive museum dedicated to talc and the people who have worked with it for generations. Visitors discover how this exceptionally soft mineral is formed, extracted and processed. High above the village lies the Trimouns quarry, the world’s largest operating talc quarry and the only active talc quarry in France. Together, the museum and quarry tell the remarkable industrial story of the Ariège Pyrenees.
