Beneath the quiet hills of western France lie the Faluns Caves—ancient limestone quarries carved by time and water. Once part of a prehistoric sea, the caves are filled with golden rock and fossilized remains of long-extinct creatures: shells, shark teeth, coral, and bones frozen in stone. Today, the caves host a hauntingly beautiful exhibition. Visitors walk through illuminated tunnels where fossils seem to emerge from the walls themselves. But deeper inside, beyond the tourist path, the rock holds secrets still untouched—strange carvings, unusual skeletons, and one fossil unlike the rest: a massive saber-shaped tooth.
