BRUGGE – Madonna Michelangelo

.The Bruges Madonna, also known as the Madonna of Bruges, is a marble sculpture by Michelangelo, created around 1501–1504. It depicts the Virgin Mary with the Christ Child, portrayed in a serene and contemplative pose. Unlike many earlier representations, the child stands upright, almost stepping away from his mother, symbolizing independence and divinity.
The sculpture is housed in the Church of Our Lady (Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk) in Bruges, Belgium, and is one of the few Michelangelo sculptures to have left Italy during his lifetime. It is celebrated for its delicate detailing and emotional depth. Coin as available in Bruges Town Hall
