MULLERTHAL – Petite Suisse

One of the most popular places to visit in Luxembourg is a natural area called ‘Little Switzerland’ or the Mullerthal. The ‘Schiessentëmpel’ a little stone bridge over a small waterfall with three cascades is located in the middle of Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland. Close to Berdorf there are other rock formations having names like ‘Predechstühl’, ‘Perekop’, ‘Adlerhorst’, ‘Goldfralay’ or caverns like the ‘Räuberhöhle’, ‘Eisgrotte’ and close to Echternach the ‘Wolfsschlucht’ an area of caverns. Most of the areas have lovely tales and stories explaining the names and telling of long forgotten times of heroes, maids, princesses and princes, elves, magicians, ghosts and bogey men who, due to one or the other reason, died here and still protect their lost treasures.
