Crucifixion – The Cathedral displays the fourteen stations of the cross carved between 1914 and 1918 by Eric Gill (22 February 1882 – 17 November 1940) was a British sculptor, typeface designer, stonecutter and printmaker, who was associated with the Arts and Crafts movement . This image of the crucifixion is taken from the 12th Station of the Cross.Crucifixion Reverse – The coin depicts the Great Rood or Crucifix which is suspended between the Sanctuary and the nave. The Latin text around the edge of the coin is taken from the inscription carved above the main door in the West Front of the Cathedral
