PARIS – Musée Grévin – Marilyn Monroe

Norma Jeane Baker (Marilyn Monroe) was born on June 1, 1926 in Los Angeles, California. Marilyn’s acting career spanned 16 years and 29 films, and a rise from struggling actress to screen legend.Monroe was married three times in all: to Jimmy Dougherty (1942-1946), whom she married when she was 16; to Joe DiMaggio (1954) and to Arthur Miller (1956-1961). She was a sex goddess who yearned to be more. Whatever her shortcomings as an actress, in most of her films she exuded a blatant yet attractive sexuality that set her apart from the other screen personalities of her time. Although intelligent, hardworking, and determined, she could not escape her own image. Marilyn Monroe was found dead August 5, 1962 in the bedroom of her Brentwood, California, home at age thirty-six from an overdose of barbiturates.
