Telc Castle

The castle is situated on the south of Moravia in the town Telc, which is often called the pearl of Moravia. For its big amount of historical monuments the town was in 1992 added to the list of UNESCO. One part of this picturesque town is formed by a Renaissance castle complex, composed of palaces and chapels built around todays Little courtyard. Thanks to its owners the original interiors were preserved. The original Gothic castle from the 14th century was rebuilt after 1550 and a few Renaissance buildings were added to the original one. In the second half of the 16th century the castle was rebuilt and enlarged. The Chapel of All Saints and a big park around the caste were created. That was the beginning of a huge Renaissance representative seat. The biggest attraction of the castle are halls with wooden compartment ceilings from the 16th century.
