OLOMOUC – Archdiocesan Museum

The archdiocesan Museum in Olomouc was founded in 1998 as a part of the Museum of Art Olomouc. It is the first museum of its kind in the history of the Czech republic. Beside the tour on the substantial part of the Olomouc castle building relics, the museum offers to its visitors also a permanent exhibition of fine art of the Olomouc archdiocese that occupies the exhibition area of 1,100 m2 and illustrates the development through the entire past millennium. The exhibition offers 4 halls totalling 260 m2 intended for short-term exhibitions, spaces for lectures activities, multipurpose hall Mozarteum for 120 spectators as well as a museum coffee bar and wine bar in the environment of the capitulary deanery honorary courtyard.
