MLADÁ BOLESLAV – Škoda Auto Museum

The Škoda Auto Museum opened in 1995 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the company foundation. The museum is housed in the restored premises of the original Škoda factory. Its permanent exhibition charts the history of the production of cars in Mladá Boleslav from its beginnings in 1895 to the latest models. The foundations for car production were laid by mechanician V. Laurin and bookseller V. Klement, who first began to manufacture a bicycle called Slavia. Shortly before the end of the 19th century, the company launched the production of motorcycles, switching to automobiles in 1905. Since 1925 the company has been named Škoda. The development and production of the Škoda cars are based on the glorious tradition of technical skill in Bohemia. The Škoda Auto Museum takes advantage of modern, multi-media presentation with music, panoramic projections, video, self-operating computer terminals, the internet, transmissions from production premises, recordings of crash-tests, virtual space and a range of other devices.
