Loreta #2

The Prague pilgrimage destination called Loreta has existed in the Hradcany for over 300 years. This remarkable complex consisting of ambits, the Nativity Church, the Holy Crib (the foundation stone laid on 3 June 1626) and a clock tower with the world famous chimes represents not only the high Baroque of Prague but also church life in the country. Visitors will be enchanted with the orchestral bells and the Loretan treasury, holding a unique collection of valuable votive donations of Loretan Virgin Mary. The Lesser Capuchin Brethren´s Order have taken care of the place and the pilgrims visiting it since its foundation. Their monastery and Angel Virgin Mary´s Church neighbours Loreta.
