Cairn of Peace

The Cairn of Peace is a war memorial on top of Pratecký Hill, some 5 km east of Brno. The pyramidal monument was built in 1910-1912 as a meorial for the battle of Austerlitz, which broke out on 2-12-1805 and ended by the victory of Napoleon and defeat of Austrian and Russian troops. It contains a museum with an exposition dedicated to the memorable battle. The memorial is surrounded by four female bodies, symbolizing France, Austria, Russia and Moravia.
