When visiting Aalborg ZOO, one of the main attractions is the installation, where wild, huge tigers live. There has been a great emphasis on creating an installation with surroundings, which are similar to the predators’ usual environment. The tigers in Aalborg Zoo belong to the smallest tiger breed in the world, namely the Sumatra tiger. The breed is highly endangered. It is thus estimated that there are only about 400 individuals left in the wild. It is especially deforestation and poaching that threaten the tigers.
